A new program aimed at increasing Internet-ready computers and broadband adoption in the Harlem community will continue throughout 2009, thanks to generous donations of computers and ongoing support from volunteers from the community.
Civitium, LLC, the market-leading consulting firm for community broadband initiatives, has been retained to perform a wireless broadband feasibility study for the community of Harlem, New York. Sponsored by Wireless Harlem, a non profit dedicated to bringing affordable and widely available broadband to the historic area, this initial project provides the necessary foundation for potential roll-out of a community-wide broadband network.
